More sun expected

Break out the sunscreen and bust open your vents; it’s a balmy 50F at the base and conditions on the hill are very much spring-like. Soft snow on our groomed trails and in the trees should yield some enjoyable turns this afternoon. All 9 lifts started spinning by 8:30 this morning, and as always, last chair for all lifts is at 4:00 PM. Despite this latest warmth, we’re still 100% open and the snow is abundant.

Speaking of snow, it looks like winter makes a return come Saturday night. How much snow is still up in the air (literally), but the site of white in the forecast makes us happy. In the meanwhile, work on your goggle tan.

My Past, Present and Future

There's not a memory from Jay that doesn't make me smile. From arriving at Hotel Jay late at night in a snow storm, being greeted by name by the staff who felt like family, the first time with my ski class in the glades that I hugged a pine tree, being asked to appear in a ski clothing photo shoot, taking a snowboard lesson with my dad after I BEGGED him, my first taste of Ben & Jerry's Phish food, helping my sister up the T-bar and watching her first ride up on her own, the first time I was allowed to drive up 242 after I got my license, my first adult beverage in the International Room for the visitor welcome party and above and beyond that, how much I learned and loved ski school. This is a photo of my last ski school report card from 1993, as well as part of my current business card...because of my experience of being Raised Jay, I have found my calling at a well-known resort in Colorado where I hope to give families the same amazing memories Jay gave my family.
