Opening Day

Today’s the day we’ve all been waiting for, OPENING DAY. While the rest of the country waits in line at Wal-Mart for a cheap TV or $2 DVDs, we'll be making the first turns of the season down The Jet.

Temperatures will be in the mid 40s today with partly sunny skies, allowing all of our skiers and riders to ease into winter after a warm offseason. We plan on spinning The Jet Triple from 9AM to 4PM, the lift will only access The Jet trail.

Beginners, read this; only expert terrain will be available for skiing & riding this weekend. After last chair Sunday, Snowmaking will hit The Haynes, then relocate to lower mountain terrain. The goal come midweek will be to hammer trails serviced off of the Taxi Quad and Stateside Moving Carpet, in effort to open beginner terrain for the following weekend.

Opening day lift tickets will be available for purchase at both Stateside & Tramside Customer Service; $49 for Adults (19+) and $39 for Juniors (6-18).

Be sure to stay tuned to this page or listen to our eloquent & ever-popular Snow Reporter at 802-988-9601 for the most recent updates from the hill.

2015/2016 Season Passes are still for sale. Click HERE to check out our Pass options, before the season kicks off.

In case you're driving up here for the first time and plan on using a GPS, be sure to read this.

The Proposal

My boyfriend Jesse popping the question in 47" of powder in the Stateside Glade. Amazing powder day, amazing birthday surprise.

The Best Day of My Life (so far.)

Jay Peak is my home mountain, even though I live 3.5 hours away. Every weekend for the past three years, my friends and I have made the trek up to the Northeast Kingdom for epic skiing and great times at the Tower Bar. The weekend of February 25, 2012 was no exception, the whole crew headed up to Jay to celebrate my 28th birthday. Little did I know, it was going to be the best birthday ever. Not only was it an amazing powder day, but my then boyfriend Jesse had a huge surprise in store for me. He made sure everybody met at the Bonny at 3:00. We headed down the mountain, meeting in the Stateside Glade under the guise of "taking a group photo." All of a sudden, Jesse was down on one knee. He had been carrying the ring in his coat all day. Of course, I said yes, and he busted out a bottle of champagne he had been carrying around in his backpack. All of our friends had been in on it for weeks. We all celebrated with an amazing dinner at The Foundry, a perfect ending to a perfect day.
