Weather Report
Tuesday, April 24th at 7:45 AM: The sun is rising to another cloudless morning, temps are slated to reach the low-60s today, and as such, we don’t expect to see many winter coats on the hill. One thing we may see a lot of today, however, is neon. Word on the street is we may jumping in the DeLorean and sending it back to the 80s today. So if you see a group of people that are looking fresh out of a Mötley Crüe show, go make some new friends; today is retro day.
Ski and ride today on 35 trails, serviced by 4 lifts. The Jet Triple is scheduled to load at 9:00 AM, while The Taxi Quad, Village Double, and Stateside Carpet will start to spin at 8:30 AM. As always, last chair for all lifts is at 4:00 PM.
At this point, we're going to call Spring's bluff, but to help Mother Nature get the point, as it were, we have started the annual Spring migration over to the Stateside area. Granted, she spitefully accelerated the timeline a bit when she unleashed 115-mph winds and ice on the tram cables early Tuesday morning. That fury caused us to have to shut down the tram and all of the trails and lifts that cross beneath it (Including beneath the Bonaventure Quad) while we conduct the needed maintenance. Remorsefully/resentfully/resistingly, all of Tramside operations (Lifts, Customer Service/Tickets, Rentals, and the cafeteria) have closed for the season. Tramside Daycare has moved to the Mountain Kids Adventure Center at Stateside.
The upside of all of this late-season madness? So much snow that we will be spinning lifts for seven-day-a-week operations through May 1. (We figured with all of this snow it'd be silly to go to just weekend-only operations when we could keep 'em spinning throughout the week if we focused on Stateside.) NOTE: With the shift to Stateside, we'll be hosting the annual Pond Skimming competition on Lower CanAm. Registration will be from 10-11:00 AM at the Stateside Lodge's Ski&Ride School desk. The comp starts at noon.
END OF SEASON OPERATING PLANS
It'll be the ninth year in a row we've spun chairs into May. Below is the late-season operating schedule:
Today-April 29: Jet Triple, Stateside Carpet, Taxi Quad, Village Double.
April 30 and May 1st: Jet Triple.
Possible reopening May 5-6 (conditions permitting): Jet Triple.
