All, a quick word of thanks for all the hard work in typically difficult operating conditions over the MLK Weekend holiday stretch. As is usually the case, a good shot of natural snow came in with equally impressive winds and drove some operational challenges from beginning to end and, still, we all came together to delivery a great, safe experience for some of the season's biggest, for lack of better word, crowds.
The Wellness Team and Hosts set the safety pace managing some of the longest lift lines and busiest outdoor spaces in our history courtesy of that weather impact, all of our support departments like Patrol, Roads and Plowing, and our Storm Crew kept our guests safe (and clear) in really difficult operating conditions, and all of our profit center employees pulled together to offer all the services we could while keeping our State's guidelines front of mind.
It's important to remind ourselves, in case it hasn't been obvious, that none of this is easy. Working twice as hard to bring in a fraction of the bottom line can wear on us and feel awfully defeating. Some of us have access to limited hours, while others are working even more so that we can make sense of an operational formula that gets us to the finish line in as close to one piece as possible.
And still, through all the difficult weather, hard work, and wind holds, I saw multiple departments pulling together, directors filling front line positions, front line positions assuming leadership roles and most people flashing smiles through all of it. I say it as often as I can but it's still likely not enough - I'm proud to work with all of you through the best of times, but that pride really comes into relief for me during the challenging ones.
