Sweet Traditions, Shared Roots: Jay Peak Resort Hosts Cross-Border Maple Celebration with Canadian Neighbors

JAY PEAK, VT. [Mar. 3, 2025] – Celebrating the rich tradition of maple sugaring in Northern Vermont and honoring the shared cultural heritage with Canadian neighbors just across the border, Temps des Sucres Weekends is the newest event to the springtime line-up at Jay Peak Resort. Skiers and riders are invited to experience classic sugaring season festivities during the weekends of April 5-6, April 12-13, and April 19-20.

Each Saturday, spring fever and live music will pour into the Tramside Base area and include scenic horse-drawn carriage rides and traditional sugar-on-snow treats at the Clubhouse. Guests will also be treated to a fireworks show each Saturday night on Tramside, adding even more energy and celebration to the weekend.

On Sundays, guests will feast on a maple-inspired brunch at Alice’s Table. The brunch is included in all lodging packages for this time period, or day-trippers can enjoy a meal for $38/person.

“This event captures the heart of the sugaring season,” said Ted Fleischer, Jay Peak’s Event Manager. “Temps des Sucres is about enjoying timeless traditions, from horse-drawn rides to maple treats, while celebrating spring with family and friends.”

This event is just one more way Jay Peak is offering guests even more to do across one of the longest seasons in the East. With nearly 130 inches of snowfall in February alone and the season total quickly approaching 400 inches, the mountain is primed for strong spring conditions that will stretch the season into April and early May.

Lodging packages, which include lift tickets and/or waterpark admissions, access to all Temps des Sucres activities, and Sunday brunch, are now available from just $359/night for a Ski Vacation for a family of 4.

As an added perk, the first 100 guests to book lodging each weekend will receive a commemorative gift, including a Temps des Sucres-branded tote, camp cup, poster, and stickers.
