Jay Peak Announces Teacher Appreciation Benefits for Summer 2020
-June 15, 2020 (Jay, VT)-
Jay Peak Resort today announced its new Vermont Teacher Appreciation benefits. The offering includes one free round of golf, with a cart, valid any Sunday through Friday for the entire 2020 golf season. Vermont teachers will also receive a 25% discount on food at the Clubhouse Grille any day during the summer.
“It’s been a strange and challenging time for everyone, but Vermont teachers, as they always do, have risen above,” said Steve Wright, Jay Peak’s president and general manager.
This latest offering is a continuation of Jay Peak’s efforts to offer assistance and appreciation for those in need, and for the people who are stepping up to help their communities during this time. The outreach began almost immediately when the resort waived rent and began providing free food for over four dozen visiting workers who became stranded at Jay Peak as a result of their home countries closing their borders. A handful of workers are still living at the resort.
Jay Peak has also used its food-and-beverage operations to help raise money for the Vermont Food Bank. Local Dough, a small-scale event that had resort staff cooking and giving away free pizzas to employees, and Pints with a Purpose, an ice cream giveaway, resulted in thousands of dollars in donations. And the resort’s Quarantunes, a Facebook Live series of musical performances from musicians with ties to Vermont, helped raise money for Catamount Arts.
“Keeping ourselves in tune with the needs of our communities and being able to help whenever possible has always been a part of Jay Peak’s DNA,” continued Wright. “Now more than ever we need to maintain connection to our neighbors and offer a hand when needed.”
Vermont teachers can book their tee time by calling (802) 988-2611 or emailing golf@jaypeakresort.com. A valid school ID will need to be presented when checking in.
