A Day With Nordic Phenom Jack Young
Spend a day at Jay Peak Resort with Jack Young, one of the fastest sprint skiers in the United States and a proud local success story. Whether you are an aspiring racer, a recreational Nordic skier, or simply a fan of the sport, this is a unique opportunity to ski, learn, and connect with an athlete competing at the highest level of international cross country skiing.
Jack will lead a flexible, interactive day that blends conversation, on snow time, and technique discussion. The format is intentionally fluid, allowing the experience to adapt to the interests and abilities of the group. Guests are welcome to come and go throughout the day.
What the Day Will Include
- Athlete Talk and Q&A
Hear Jack share his journey from growing up skiing in the Northeast Kingdom to racing for the Stifel U.S. Cross Country Ski Team. Jack will speak about training, competition, setbacks, and what it takes to perform consistently at the World Cup level. - On Snow Demo
Watch Jack ski and demonstrate technique, efficiency, and speed on the trails. - Technique Discussion

This event is an on snow activity and is suitable for a wide range of ages and experience levels.
About Jack Young
Jack Young, of Jay, Vermont, is one of the strongest sprint skiers in the United States and a member of the Stifel U.S. Cross Country Ski Team. A Colby College graduate, Jack took a non traditional path to elite skiing, trading in football pads and a quarterback role in high school for cross country ski racing.
During the 2024–25 season, Jack became a consistent presence on the FIS Cross Country World Cup, earning multiple top 30 finishes and securing a career best 12th place in the Davos World Cup skate sprint. He represented the United States at the 2025 FIS Nordic World Championships in Trondheim, Norway, qualifying for sprint heats at every World Cup and World Championship skate sprint he entered that winter.
Jack grew up skiing through the Bill Koch Youth League in nearby Newport, Vermont, later joining the Craftsbury Ski Club and becoming a five time Vermont State Champion. Now racing full time, Jack is focused on continued progression at the highest level of the sport, with long term goals that include representing Team USA at the Olympic Winter Games.
