A full day of judged freeride for skiers and riders

The Jay Peak Freeride Friendly is back for 2026, offering a full day of judged freeride competition across age categories and disciplines. Skiers and snowboarders will take on one of Jay’s signature freeride venues, showcasing line choice, control, technique, style, and the kind of creativity Jay riders are known for.

This event is separate from Sunday’s IFSA sanctioned Extreme Comp, but follows a similar structure, welcoming athletes from throughout the region.

All competitors are required to complete a Jay Peak waiver prior to the start of the event.

The Venue

Final course venue will be announced closer to the event date, but will mirror the freeride terrain style used in past Jay Peak competitions, emphasizing natural features, steeps, and creativity.

Registration

Registration opens Monday, January 5th, 2026.

To register, participants must call the Jay Peak Ski & Ride School  (802) 327-2329. Registration is handled directly through the Ski & Ride School and is not available online.

Registration will remain open through January 18, 2026, or until the registration cap of 110 competitors is reached.

Event Fees

• $60 plus tax, standard registration
• $45 plus tax, Jay Peak Competition Program athletes

Discounts for Jay Peak Competition Program athletes are applied during registration through the Ski & Ride School.

Event Day Schedule

All times subject to change based on weather, snow, and field size.

• 7:30–8:30 AM - Coach/Athlete check in, Bullwheel, 3rd Floor, Stateside Lodge
• 8:30 AM - Mandatory athlete meeting, Bullwheel
• 8:45 AM - Athletes and coaches load Bonaventure Quad
• 8:45–9:45 AM - Mandatory inspection run, venue TBD
• 10:00 AM - First athlete on course
• 4:00 PM - Course closed, event complete
• 4:15 PM - Awards ceremony, outside Howie’s near the firepit

Lift Tickets

Discounted lift access is available for competitors and families at the Stateside customer service window.

• $45 USD lift ticket for each athlete
• $45 USD lift ticket for one parent or guardian

Lift tickets can be purchased onsite after check in.
