Jeezum Crow Festival
It started the way a lot of good ideas do around here. Casually, a little tilted, and without any real sense of how big it might become. What followed has become a summer tradition lasting over a decade and presently part of Vermont's Signature Event Series. A place to gather with friends and family under the mountain at the Stateside Amphitheater and let loose during the stretched days of summer. Measured in sets, sunsets, and shared moments that only happen when people keep showing up. Here's a look back at the very first Jeezum Crow Festivals and our attempt to cover them in a way worthy-ish of a Woodstock regaling.
Ever wonder how Jeezum Crow Festival got its name?
It all came together during a typically atypical conversation in passing, in a parking lot, between our GM, Steve Wright, and long-time Jay Peaker and wizard of Vermont-isms, Jim Judd.
Jim: Hey Steve, how's it going?
Steve: Oh, not bad. We're working on a summer music festival for the new amphitheater being built on Stateside, and I'm struggling to come up with a name.
Jim: Well, jeezum crow, bub, it shouldn't be that hard.
