Jay Peak Resort Announces the 42nd Annual Farmers’ Appreciation Day
JAY PEAK, Vt. — [January 10, 2026] — For more than four decades, Jay Peak Resort has set aside a winter day to say thank you to Vermont’s agricultural community. On Friday, January 23, 2026, that tradition continues with the 42nd Annual Farmers’ Appreciation Day, offering free skiing and riding to local farmers and their workers.
Akin to the inspiring words of William H. Miner, “No other occupation is so vitally important to the human race…”, Farmers’ Appreciation Day remains a simple gesture of gratitude to the people who grow, raise, milk, and produce the food that sustains the region. Whatever your operation looks like, if you’re part of Vermont’s farming community, you’re invited to take a break on the slopes and still be home in time for chores.
The event also reflects Jay Peak’s broader commitment to access and affordability. Through this event, and other programming like the Foundations Program, which offers deeply discounted lift tickets, lessons, rentals and season passes to local school, these efforts underscore the resort’s long-standing focus on keeping winter sports welcoming, local, and attainable.
