Enough. Already?
A note of thanks from our GM.
Enough. Already?
Take that however you’d like.
For those of you calling uncle after nearly seven months of snow, wind, cold, and more snow—we get it. And for those of you, like Bobby and Cindy and Brad and Gus, still drifting and dreaming and grinding for every last turn, we get that too.
Truth is, we’re equal parts all of you. And you, Us.
When we started making snow back in late October and early November, mid-May felt more like a target than a reality—a dot on the calendar that was hard to fully believe in. And now here we are. Just us. And you. The Triple. The Jet. And as many turns as you can squeeze into Saturday and Sunday, May 16th and 17th—the final weekend of a record-snapping season here at Jay Peak.
Mother Nature is set to do her part. Temperatures should push toward 60 with only a passing chance of a quick afternoon shower. The Jet Triple will spin from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. both days. Skiing and riding will be for advanced skiers and riders only and, especially by Sunday, there will likely be some walking required from the offload to the snow.
Stateside Base Lodge will be open for booting up and bathrooms, and the ticket window will be open as well ($45 for all ages).
There’ll be plenty of time to talk about the Jay Peak Championship Golf Course opening next Friday, May 22nd, and the Jay Peak Pump House Indoor Waterpark opening daily for summer operations on June 19th (Friday–Sunday until then). And trust me, there’s plenty more summer stuff headed for your inboxes and feeds soon enough.
But for now, a simple thank you will have to do.
Thank you for being the most die-hard fans anywhere in this business.
It’s not lost on me—or anyone standing behind the flake here at Jay Peak—that Jay Peakers are built a little differently and operate under a different credo. This place is far from perfect (sometimes very far), but the people who ski and ride here make this mountain better. You keep us grounded. You hold us accountable to the things that matter—You make us better operators, and that matters more to us than you probably know.
So, thank you for that.
I hope we run into you this summer. And if we don’t, I suspect we’ll see each other again when the wind changes direction and the snow returns.
Thanks again for a great season.
