Jeezum Crow Bingo

The Original Festival Side Quest

Back before festival apps and Instagram stories, there was Jeezum Crow Bingo.

Buried in the pages of our 2015 Summer Magazine, this unofficial spectator sport challenged festivalgoers to spot everything from tie-dye and Birkenstocks to hula hoops, facial hair, dogs on carabiner leashes, and the occasional cartwheel. It's people-watching but with a competitive edge.

Some squares feel delightfully dated. Others could've been printed yesterday. Either way, if you're heading to Jeezum Crow this year, consider bringing it along. You might be surprised how quickly you fill the card.

The bingo card was part of a tongue-in-cheek "Festival Survival Guide" we published ahead of just the second Jeezum Crow Festival. At the time, the event was still finding its footing, and so were we. After observing the inaugural weekend, we jokingly claimed to have distilled our collective wisdom into a field guide for navigating homemade hula hoops, impromptu air guitar solos, questionable fashion choices, and the occasional free beer. We even suggested that "burning wood, but cerebral enlightenment" was entirely possible over the course of a weekend.

Eleven years later, the lineup has grown, the crowds have gotten bigger, and the festival has become a true summer tradition, even now being labeled a Vermont Signature Event.

The bingo card, however, still holds up remarkably well. Print it out, bring it along, and see how many squares you can check off before the final encore. We have a feeling the free space is still the easiest one on the card.
