Resort revives a classic winter ritual with four- and five-night midweek stays for the 2026-27 season
JAY PEAK, Vt. – August 17, 2026 – Somewhere along the way, the ski week largely disappeared.
For generations of families, a winter vacation meant more than squeezing a couple of ski days into a weekend. Families unpacked once, learned a mountain over several days and developed routines that became part of the trip itself. This winter, Jay Peak Resort is bringing that ritual back.
The resort's new Ski Week program centers on four- and five-night midweek stays, giving families enough time to develop a ski trip rhythm of its own. Skiing and riding remain at the center of the experience, with lodging, lift tickets, Pump House Indoor Waterpark access, welcome parties, additional activities, and resort-wide benefits included throughout the stay.
Ski Week stays start at $449 per night for a family of four, including lodging, lift tickets and Pump House Indoor Waterpark access. The program is available for select Sunday-through-Thursday stays from January 3 through March 25, 2027. Reservations must be made by November 4, 2026.
"We think the ski industry lost something when the traditional ski week started to disappear," said Steve Wright, General Manager at Jay Peak Resort. "There's something different that happens when you have enough time at a mountain for the vacation to find its own rhythm. Your boots start living by the door, the kids find their favorite trails, and everyone develops their own places, paces and routines. We're trying to bring some of that back."
The program reflects Jay Peak's broader focus on the rituals that turn skiing and snowboarding from something people do into something they build their winters around. Rather than packing more into each day, the Ski Week gives families enough days that they don't have to. Ride familiar trails again. Explore a different part of the mountain. Spend an afternoon at the waterpark. Go skating after dinner. Or call it early knowing the mountain will still be there tomorrow.
Guests who commit to the Ski Week also receive a Rite of Passage Pass, exclusive to the program and designed to reward those settling in for the week. Depending on the length of stay and how guests use the benefits, the pass carries approximately $600 to $1,800 in additional value.
The Rite of Passage Pass includes complimentary day-of-arrival lift tickets and waterpark access, Nordic skiing and rentals, public skating and rentals, mini golf and movies at Clips & Reels, an exclusive climbing night, 24/7 gym access and complimentary resort shuttle service.
Passholders also receive access to a Monday night Ski Week welcome party and significant savings throughout the resort, including 50% off ski and snowboard equipment rentals, 50% off select ski and ride lessons and 25% off dining at select restaurants, along with additional savings on spa services, retail and other resort experiences.
Another advantage of the traditional Ski Week: midweek Jay Peak moves at a different pace. Lift lines are shorter, trails are quieter, and families have more room to settle into the mountain. The idea isn't simply to fit more into a vacation. It's to stay long enough that the mountain begins to feel familiar.
The Jay Peak Ski Week is available for qualifying Sunday-through-Thursday stays between January 3 and March 25, 2027, excluding February 13-20. Rite of Passage Pass benefits are valid Monday through Thursday during the guest's stay and require presentation of the pass at participating resort outlets.
