Hailing from New York’s Hudson Valley, Upstate has built a loyal following with an adventurous blend of folk, soul, R&B, jazz, gospel, and rock and roll. Known for rich vocal harmonies, dynamic arrangements, and a live show that can move from intimate and rootsy to full-on, danceable energy, the band has spent more than a decade evolving its sound while staying grounded in honest songwriting and strong musicianship. Along the way, Upstate has appeared at festivals including Mountain Jam and FreshGrass and shared stages with artists such as The Wood Brothers, Marco Benevento, Mt. Joy, and The Felice Brothers.
Lee Ross is a one-man party band from Massachusetts who turns saxophone, keyboards, flute, live looping, and a deep bag of funk and reggae grooves into a full-room dance party. He has performed throughout the eastern U.S. and Canada, both on his own and alongside artists including George Clinton, Guster, G. Love & Special Sauce, Twiddle, lespecial, Pigeons Playing Ping Pong, and Neighbor. Equal parts musician, bandleader, and late-night ringleader, Ross builds his sets in real time and keeps things loose, funky, and moving from start to finish.
Fireworks will kick off the night with an on-mountain fireworks display on Tramside. Keep your eyes peeled up the mountain around 7:00PM; warning shot at 6:50 PM.
