Jay Peak Resort and AirFlare, developers of a new search and rescue app, have recently partnered to offer Jay Peak guests a new an innovative mountain technology. AirFlare offers another touch point in mountain safety. Much like you wouldn't ski or ride without a helmet, AirFlare provides tools to not only help our patrollers and first responders but also friends and family who just want to stay in touch on mountain. Jay Peak is currently the only resort on the East coast working with the AirFlare team.
By downloading the AirFlare app, if you were to get hurt or lost on the slopes, AirFlare provides Jay Peak Ski Patrol with an additional method to locate you quickly and effectively. Jay Peak’s Ski Patrol has adopted AirFlare Search Technology as part of their ongoing effort to promote mountain safety and awareness. By leveraging the cell phone already in your pocket, AirFlare is a low cost, easy to use tool you don’t need to remember to pack. AirFlare works with limited or no cell service, extends off-grid battery life to a week or longer and you don’t even need to open it before you head out.
