Jay Peak Resort Earns Gold in Vermont's 2026 Worksite Wellness Awards
Jay Peak Resort earns gold with the 2026 Vermont Governor's Excellence in Worksite Wellness Award at the Gold Level, marking an important milestone in the resort's ongoing efforts to support the health and wellbeing of its employees.
Presented annually by the Governor's Council on Physical Fitness and Sports, the awards recognize Vermont employers for creating healthier workplaces, improving employee wellbeing and building programs that support their teams both on and off the clock.
After receiving silver recognition in both 2024 and 2025, Jay Peak took a closer look at how existing programs could be improved and how additional resources could make a meaningful difference for employees.
One of the most significant additions was the creation of dedicated breastfeeding and pumping spaces at both Stateside and Tramside base areas, developed in coordination with the resort's childcare team. These quiet, private areas provide nursing mothers with comfortable seating, access to a breast pump and refrigerated storage for expressed milk, addressing a gap in the resort's previous employee wellness offerings.
The resort also worked with its Food & Beverage team to introduce more nutritious options at employee gatherings, incorporating additional fruits, vegetables and healthier alternatives into staff breakfasts, meetings and other events.
Beyond the workplace itself, Jay Peak expanded opportunities for employees to access health and safety education directly on the mountain. Recent initiatives include Stop the Bleed training and a tick identification and removal presentation, which was also made available to employees' family members. Additional opportunities, including an upcoming fall flu shot clinic, are part of the resort's continued commitment to making health resources more accessible. A fall flu shot clinic also gave employees an opportunity to access preventive care at work.
The gold recognition reflects not just the addition of new programs, but a broader effort across departments to make employee wellbeing a more consistent part of daily operations.
Jay Peak is among 115 Vermont employers being recognized in 2026 and is one of the state's only ski resorts to achieve gold status this year.
The awards will be formally presented on October 27, 2026, during the Vermont Safety and Health Council's 30th Annual Fall Safety Expo at the Killington Grand Resort Hotel.
For Jay Peak, the move from Silver to Gold represents meaningful progress, but the work doesn't end with the award. The resort plans to continue expanding wellness resources and finding practical ways to better support the people who keep the mountain running year-round.
