Aerial Tram Rides This Weekend
Come get a good look at all of Vermont from the top of Jay Peak

Built On The Double Barrel

Where a world-ranked rider got her start.

Before Monica Caffrey was ranked #1 in the U.S. and #2 in the world, she was just a local kid chasing one more run at the Pump House. This summer, she’s back on the wave that started it all, coaching riders through our Summer Surf Lesson Series.

The #1 ranked FlowRider athlete in the United States learned to ride right here at Jay Peak.

Back then, she was cashing in half-off coupons, waiting her turn in line, and squeezing in as many runs as possible. Later, a job at Jay Peak gave her more time on the wave and helped turn a hobby into a career.

Today, she's competing against the best FlowRider athletes in the world.

As Monica puts it, "Without this mountain, without this wave, I wouldn't be competing at all."

It's a reminder that world-class talent doesn't always come from world-famous beaches. Sometimes it starts on a sheet wave in Northern Vermont, with someone who just keeps showing up for one more run.

This summer, Monica returns to the Double Barrel as part of our Summer Surf Lesson Series, helping the next generation of riders find their footing and discover where a few extra laps can take them.
