Canadian Land Travel Update
Travel guideline changes starting February 28th, 2022
There will be some loosening of the travel guidelines to re-enter Canada. We’re watching the Government of Canada site for final updates, but this is what we understand so far (in the context of land travel):
Effective February 28th, travelers (ages 5+) will now have the option of using a rapid antigen test (taken with 24hrs of arriving at the border) OR a PCR test (taken within 72hrs of arriving at the border). In either case, the test must be purchased and must be administered by a laboratory, healthcare entity or telehealth service.
Note: we have listed local clinics doing both regular and rapid PCR tests on our EverClean Program page. We are also researching options for rapid antigen tests. If you’ve tested positive for COVID-19, you must be symptom free and present your positive test result taken at least 10 days ago and not more than 180 days ago.
In all cases, you must still complete the ArriveCAN App.
THIS IS NOT CONFIRMED, but they have also floated the idea of the 72hr exemption returning (ie: fully vaccinated travelers wouldn’t have to test at all for trips of 72hrs or less). We'll be closely watching how this develops with much anticipation.
