Employee of the Month

Some team members not only do their job but they shape the way this place feels in the process. They show up ready, shift after shift, and consistently deliver the kind of experience that keeps guests coming back. This monthly recognition is our way of celebrating those steady standouts who lead by example, carry the culture, and bring their best every day.

Nominations come from fellow team members and managers alike, and the more specific you can be when shouting someone out, the better. Each month, we’ll announce finalists and the winner at the all-staff meeting.

Hosts

HOW IT WORKS

One winner will be chosen each month, and both the finalists and the winner will be acknowledged at the monthly staff meeting. The winner will get a place on the Hotel Jay wall and receive a package of resort prizes including things like:

  • One-night Splash & Stay Package
  • Dinner for 2 at one of the Jay Peak restaurants
  • $250 Move Up Card

All nominees who are not selected as winner will receive a $50 Move Up card.

JANUARY 2025

Shawnna was nominated by multiple team members in recognition of the consistency, reliability, and positivity she brings to SS Café every day. While her primary role is cashier, she regularly goes beyond her job description, stepping in wherever support is needed to keep the front of house running smoothly.

Since the arrival of the J-1 staff, Shawnna has taken an active role in training and supporting both new cashiers and bussers, spending time on shift to guide them, answer questions, and help them gain confidence in their roles. She approaches this responsibility with patience and care, ensuring new team members feel supported.

In addition to training, Shawnna helps keep the front-of-house environment clean, organized, and well prepared for each shift, including beverage stations, coolers, and displays. Known for her positive attitude and strong guest service, she is a favorite among both coworkers and guests. Shawnna’s flexibility and teamwork make her an invaluable part of the SS Café team. Thank you, Shawnna, for the care, dedication, and pride you bring to your work each day.
